We are almost to the end of the school year! Exams can be stressful, but we can get through it and succeed!
In honor of Earth Day and great writers involved in the Transcendentalism movement, the 9/10th grade class spent some time outside getting some fresh air and getting closer to nature. What a beautiful day!
In October, the middle school students all wrote essays about how to improve fire safety in our school and our community. Many of the essays described how to be safe in a fire. This was a great opportunity for the students to learn what to do in an event of a fire and important fire safety information that can help them stay safe in an event of a fire. Our essays won the Alliance for Fire Safety essay competition in which Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy was awarded $1500 to make fire safety improvements to our school.
Recently I had the middle school students create sensory color poems. They chose a color and described the color by using the five senses. I displayed them up in my classroom for a month. I think this short project turned out very well. All of the students created amazing poems!
